I've given him 3 deathroots so far. He attacks you after you give him four deathroots. Don’t do what i did and summon mimic tear…mimic tear doesn’t have the sympathy to stop attacking him and will keep going until he’s dead. He surrenders once you deal a bit of damage. He attacked me when i came to give him another deathroot (must have given him 4 before). You will need to smack him around a bit for him to regain his senses.
